Attorneys and staff at DPL Drewes Privacy Law have more than 20 years of experience in privacy law. With their many years of expertise, our highly specialized lawyers can demonstrate how companies can meet the challenges of the GDPR without neglecting the economic implications of data processing for operational activities. In addition, DPL’s lawyers provide support in carrying out a data protection impact assessment or provide coaching for the internal data protection officer. Dr. Benjamin Manthey
Attorney at law, specialist attorney for IT law
Due to his affinity for information technology, Dr. Benjamin Manthey never thinks about data protection law in isolation from technical requirements and framework conditions. This applies to the choice of legal basis as well as to the structuring of data processing, including subsequent anonymization processes. Data law increasingly goes beyond the General Data Protection Regulation and in many cases also encompasses other issues. In addition to the AI Regulation and the Digital Services Act, this also increasingly includes IT security issues (NIS2). Dr. Manthey is a specialist lawyer for IT law and has been working in Dr. Drewes’ team since 2021.

Lukas Werner has been working in data protection since 2017. As the data protection officer of a medium-sized company, he has gained important experience in the implementation of data protection in management. His business knowledge and experience of the company’s internal perspective help him to set up and effectively implement processes. His advice always keeps an eye on economic feasibility and consequences.

Matthias Bendixen has been working as a lawyer since 2017, specializing in software contract and data protection law. He advises clients both as a lawyer and as an external data protection officer. Due to his IT affinity and experience in the contractual support of software projects, he understands how data protection can be designed technically and procedurally. He has been part of Dr. Drewes’ team since 2024.

Assistant
Lisa Woitscheck works as an assistant in the secretariat of the DPL. She is the first point of contact for telephone as well as written inquiries. Her other responsibilities include scheduling appointments with clients, administrative duties, and providing support and input to DPL attorneys.
Angela Kolvenbach
Management assistance, accounting
As assistant to the management, Angela Kolvenbach takes care of personnel matters and is responsible for accounting. Ms. Kolvenbach is the contact person for all questions regarding invoicing.
